The fourth new tool F-4 Phantom II from Zoukei-Mura
Happy days indeed! You may have seen my initial in-box review of the ZM F-4J release in SMN’s Aircraft-Here Now-Kits pages and if you did you’ll know that the kit promised a lot and boy, did it deliver! Since then, this manufacturer has released the ‘S’, ‘C’ and now the ‘D’ variant of the Phantom II.
You may then have seen Aurelio’s stunning full build article of that ZM F-4J kit and you’ll know that it confirmed what a superb model kit the F-4J is and here is a photo of Aurelio’s completed model to show you…
Alan K. did a stunning job building the ‘S’ model and you can find his full build in SMN from the Aircraft-Finished Now-Zoukei-Mura finished projects pages.
Now you can see what all the fuss is about – presuming you like the ‘Toom’? If you don’t, I’m surprised you’ve got this far!!
Phantoms galore
I guess it was inevitable that ZM was going to release the USAF ‘D’ variant at some stage (having recently released the ‘C’) and it’s great that both these are now available.
Apart from the links above to the reviews we already have for the ZM ‘J’ and ‘S’ models, we have also completed a full build by Adam W-B of the Academy F-4B kit (very similar to their other F-4 kits) and you’ll find that in Aircraft-Finished Now under Academy. There’s also a full in-box review in Here Now of that same kit.

Just before we let Adam go here, you’ll be pleased to know that he’s soon going to be starting the full build of this ZM F-4D kit for SMN – can’t wait!
Note too, that if you like the F-4 Phantom and the British versions (FG-1 and FGR-2) both these are imminent as I type from Airfix in 1:72 scale – in fact, the FG-1 is already out!) and these are completely new-tool as well!
