Initial thoughts – the plan!
So excited to be getting into this new build of the Lukgraph Dragon Rapide, in 1:32 scale no less!
I had the pleasure of flying on a Rapide at the IWM Duxford, England a few years ago with my daughter, Emily and what a great experience that was. We flew in a dark blue and silver machine, one of two DH.89s that were giving regular pleasure flights from the airfield at that time. My plan is to build a personalised Rapide from the kit in my own markings, yet resembling on first glance the aircraft we flew in – well why not? A chance not to be constrained for once!!
The only real amendment to the kit is to include the extra window on the port side (present on most civilianised Rapides), just aft of the entry door – the window and photo-etch (PE) frame are included in the kit – happy days :)
Reference…
There are many photos of the exterior and interior details on the web and so I am just using those for this project. Most of the pics I have found are copyrighted so I can’t include them here, but you’ll find plenty of help on the web. So you just need to decide what version to build, either one of the three included in the kit, or one of your own.
