Initial assessment
Accuracy
Looks accurate and captures the distinctive lines of the Israeli version of the F-16, the F-16I very well. Separate spine and Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFTs) neatly moulded and clean.
Fit
Dry fitting of the parts reveals no major or even minor snags.
Quality?
Fine tooling is demonstrated throughout. Subtle recessed panel lines and surface detail is excellent and easily as good as the best – no mean feat. No flash is evident and all the parts look crisply moulded.
Instructions
A very clear instruction book is supplied with accurate labelling. The build sequence is logical and follows along traditional lines. You may want to go your own way on some areas, particularly when it comes to adding all the separate sub-assemblies after they are painted and weathered?
Decals
On initial inspection these look to be very high quality – much like those manufactured by Cartograf. All the small items look to be in register with strong and apparently accurate printed colours.
Other comments
The box seems to be full of sprues containing just about anything and everything that the F-16I can or could carry under the fuselage and wings! Far too many to mention here, but everything is in there.
A small etched fret is included with a panel for the port side CFT. In addition an excellent turned brass nose cone pitot sensor is included.
