Short Feature Article with Nick Adlam
A note from Geoff C…
It’s really good to be able to welcome Nick to the pages of SMN with his very impressive Kinetic T-45 Goshawk. Thanks Nick for sharing your build with us all and keen to see what you do next!
Here’s a look at how it all turned out…
Nice, isn’t it?
Over to you Nick…
Having always been a fan of US Navy Aviation, it was only a matter of time before I got around to the T-45 Goshawk. This is a United States Navy and Marine Corps training aircraft that replaced the T-2 Buckeye and the TA-4J Skyhawk. Kinetic have been producing naval aircraft for the past several years now and the T-45 was released in 2012.
Inside the box are four sprues of grey plastic with a clear parts sprue, instruction sheet and decal sheet. The sprues have some flash and seams to clean up. On the back of the box are the two kit schemes, one a Marine Corps T-45A and the other is a US Navy T-45C. The difference is in the cockpits, where the ‘A’ variant has a steam driven cockpit whilst the ‘C’ uses glass and associated avionics. The decals appear to be crisp and clear, printed by Cartograf and researched by ‘Two Bobs’, who are renowned for their US military subjects.
