Full Review with Adam Brown
Kit Ref: SH48214
Just before we get started, here’s a look at how this project turned out…
Introduction
This kit was announced by Special hobby and eduard as a joint venture with eduard supplying the kit plastic and etch and Special hobby adding some of their exquisite resin extras, in this instance some gorgeous wheels and an open panel to show off some of the Bristol Centaurus engine.
There are also some cockpit and wheel masks included too along with markings for 5 aircraft, including 3 RAF schemes and 2 more covering an Indian Air Force and Pakistani Air Force (RPAF) aircraft.
I wanted to tackle the Royal Pakistan Air Force (RPAF) and what a great scheme it is too…
Into the build… Cockpit
The cockpit is a typical Hawker style cockpit made from a tubular frame; Special Hobby/Eduard have recreated this in 1:48th wonderfully but I decided to spice it up slightly with a Eduard Space 3D printed instrument set. Already included in the kit are Special Hobby’s own etched seatbelts (colour).
Cockpit Green XF-71 by Tamiya was used to recreate the colour and all highlights were done using a thinned X-18 Semi-Gloss Black.
