Initial assessment…
The tracks come in a fairly small box with artwork of a panther and the tracks on the front with instructions on the rear. The tracks come in two separate packs as they are handed; the only real difference is the track pin showing for each respective side. The links are supplied in eight sets of twelve and as the instructions give a requirement of 86 per side you will have some left for either the turret or the rear hangers. Each track has four attachment points which will require cleaning up. Having said that there is no flash on the set I have, which are also very well moulded.
Accuracy…
The accuracy of these tracks compared to Panzer tracks is right on the button.
Quality…
The quality of this set is very good the tracks will need some clean up from the joining pieces and I found to join them if you put the pip in on one side and clip the other side in carefully the track links hold together and articulate very well. I tried them around the drive sprocket of the Dragon Panther D and they fit very well. I don’t know if they will sag naturally like the metal tacks as the joined links are quite stiff but this may need them to be “placed” with the correct sag. But more of this when used.
Instructions…
The instructions are printed on the back of the box which are clear and concise and comprise assembly guide, parts list and colour guide.
Conclusions…
Well what did I think? This is a set of tracks that I think will be easy to assemble even with the clean up required for the four points to the joining sprues. Detail and accuracy is excellent, down to the reproduction of casting ref numbers and symbols on the top of the track plates. I am looking forward to using them on the “D” I have in my collection and hope to have them used on it. If this is the standard set for the track sets I congratulate Bronco for a terrific aftermarket set at a very good price.
Very highly recommended
