The exhaust pipe was assembled and cleaned up. On inspecting the line drawing of the vehicle it was noted that a flange plate was used to connect the pipe to the hull, this was made from 5th plastic card by first drilling a hole which cleared the pipe and then cutting to shape. The exhaust pipe and flange were then glued into position and the latter had four bolt head glued to the corners.
The turret base, turret top, hatch and episcopes were then assembled as per the instructions but not joined as the main gun and mg had to be cut and drilled to accept new metal items. The mg was cut from its mount and then the rest of the barrel which was inside the retaining sleeve was ground out with a dental burr in a motor tool. Clean up was done with a file and wet and dry paper and the new barrel fitted. The mg mount on the turret was then drilled out to except the barrel.
