Take a break – undercarriage doors…
My C-17 has the wheels down and so the one-piece main gear doors will need to be cut along the marked lines. This works very well and the edges just need cleaning up with a sanding stick.
Notice that the insides of the doors have prominent moulding ejector pin marks and it could be that these may not be visible but I wanted to fix them with cyano as the risk is too great – you may decide differently.
Big wings…
Huge features in more ways than one are the large wings fitted to the Globemaster. They fit together very well and no filler is needed, only at their join with the fuselage. The fit is ok here too, but I didn’t want obvious wing to fuselage joins, so out with the cyano again. The wings cleaned up, some panel line detail needs to be re-scribed and my Olfa P-Cutter did a good job here.
