Photo Etch (PE) from Airfix – great stuff!
More PE from Airfix, this set being the follow-on to A65001 designed for the Snatch Land Rovers from the same manufacturer. Again, Eduard PE packaged under the Airfix brand and that continues to assure high quality. The whole 1:48 Operation Herrick models in this range have grown to feature figures, Land Rovers, Merlin helos, Jackal and Coyote AFVs making for some incredible diorama possibilities.
This PE set is designed to enhance the Airfix 1:48 Supacat HMT400 Jackal and HMT600 Coyote kits and looking at the single detailed fret this time the quality looks superb with comprehensive detail across the board – your Jackal and Coyote kits will be dramatically improved by the addition of this set.
We have already reviewed in Here Now the Supacat Jackal and also the Coyote kits and Neil P has done a nice job with his Jackal build that you’ll find in the armour area of Finished Now.
Some observations…
- I have included here some detailed photos of the PE so you can see exactly what you are getting to enhance your Snatch Land Rover or WMIK
- I have always liked using Eduard PE sets – they almost always fit well, have good scale detail and make the model stand out
- Levels of detail are excellent – fine mesh grilles, tread plates that are stunning – even the ‘checkerboard’ effect is perfectly captured
- Seat harness / belts are fine and in scale to my eye
- Many smaller items like hinges, mounts and the like that will just give your model the edge.
Highly recommended
