It’s great to see that Revell is producing some good tools – they always have, ever since I really got into scale modelling.
What you have here is a well-engineered hand-help pin-vice drill that includes 3 drill bits:
0.7mm
1.0mm
1.3mm
These are useful sized drill bits but if you look around there are many model shops that sell tools that have the small orange box sets with smaller as well as larger drill bits; other box sets of bits can also be found with an even greater range of sizes.
Back to this Revell hand drill – all you do is turn the end where the drill bit goes, insert it and firmly secure. The hand drill then just sits in the palm of your hand and you control the whole thing with one hand, mainly using your thumb and forefinger to rotate the drill.
Hand-held drills are really important tools, mainly because they give you plenty of control over the speed and precision of locating your hole.
Motorised drills are usually inappropriate for most precision plastic modelling jobs because they rotate too quickly and melt the plastic! Not good☹
Recommended.
