Here’s a quick look at how Casemate describes this title:
“With the aid of 116 extraordinarily detailed and accurate line drawings, Technical Aircraft Drawings of World War II shows how a wide selection of classic military aircraft were put together – inside and out. Showing how aircraft developed during the war, each complex line drawing is annotated with an exhaustive key with everything from air ducts to the nosewheel leg pivot mounting.
The illustrations are complemented by colour photographs with extended captions, plus detailed information about each aircraft’s operational specifications. From the Messerschmitt Bf109k-4 to the North American B-25 Mitchell, Technical Aircraft Drawings of World War II is an invaluable reference guide for anyone interested in how classic aircraft worked.”
From my own perspective as a scale modeller, this book has a lot to offer – here’s a run down of what’s on offer here:
- hardback
- 256 pages
- 116 line drawings
- extensive coverage of Allied and Axis aircraft
- colour profiles/drawings
- colour and black and white original photos – many unusual colour period photographs
- brief intro to each type as well as technical spec box with info on each subject
I always like titles like this – they are just very different to anything else on offer and when coverage is this comprehensive, you get quick and ready access to some essential layout detail for what you are after.
Quality of production is very high – good hard cover to prevent damage over the long-term – you’ll be coming back to this one for many years to come! High quality art paper with a satin finish – just feels very good and perfectly presents the information on offer.
Highly recommended
