Having separated the plastic main gun barrel from the gun assembly, a tube was found of the correct internal diameter to fit over the brass Schatton gun barrel. This was then cut to the correct size and positioned and glued to the barrel.
So the new barrel sat flush to the recuperator, it had to be ground out with a dental tool, with many test fits and even with this some filling was required to pull everything together.
A strip of plastic card was glued under the barrel and then a 1.2mm wide piece of wine bottle foil was attached to one side of the barrel going over the plastic strip and up the other side of the barrel
The main gun assembly was then put into the turret and glued into place with the two pieces which hold it in place, I fixed the gun as I did not want it to elevate. The turret base was then fixed in place.
