Main wing assembly
Now it’s time to assemble the main wings and although I did a dry run early on as you’ll remember now we have the main gear bay parts installed (perfect fit). The upper wing section slots into it’s location and be sure to push it firmly home – I did have a very small gap at the very front of the join but nothing that couldn’t be quickly sorted later with a smear of PVA.
Make sure you drill out the locating holes for the drop tanks if you plan to fit these later.
The lower wing assemblies are brought up and trap the intakes and gear wells within and it’s all a very snug fit. This is a good thing with no filler being required for the main join. The only areas I needed a tiny amount of cyano were the outer ‘V’ join of the engine intake aperture. I just added the glue and held it all together firmly with masking tape.
Note the wing tip profile – it needs just a slight modification.
