Wing tip nav lights and pitot probe…
Time to add the clear inserts and they are quite a good fit, not perfect this time and I found the best way to secure them in place is to use cyano and accelerator/kicker before sanding and polishing to fit. Just mask out the small triangular lens covers.

The way the probe is designed is a bit ‘agricultural’ to me in that the block at the base forms part of the wing leading edge and there’s a gap around this that needs to be filled, again using cyano. I think Airfix would have been better to just mould a hole into which the probe could be inserted later – far too much risk of a break now with the probe in place and all the painting and weathering to follow – hmm.
Ready for paint!
Just a quick wipe over with some Tamiya thinner on a clean cloth to remove any finger oil and this Hunter is ready for the paint shop :) I reckon it’s only been about 6 hours work to this point and almost all highly enjoyable which is all great.
