Painting
Well here’s the scheme I’m doing, one of the box options. It’ll be nice to finish a Hawker Hunter in something other than an RAF or Royal Navy scheme (for me anyway!).
Alclad2 for the undersides
You’ll see that the undersides are High Speed Silver with an upper camo pattern of RAF Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey.
I’m going to use Alclad2 for the ‘silver’ and that’s got to go onto a nice glossy back base, so I’m using their Gloss Black Base for that. It sprays straight out of the bottle with just a good shake needed. Work carefully and apply thin coats around the underside until you have a smooth black covering.
The plan is to leave the black for a good couple of days to harden off before applying the Alclad2 metallic lacquers.
Having said that, the next day the black can be masked out and the upper camo colours sprayed on and that’s what I did.
