Finishing off
Not a lot to do now, just add the undercarriage and various aerials and the canopy, remembering to apply grey and dirt coloured pastels dust to the tyres/wheels.
Also note that the Morane antenna mast that should locate on the inner right underside of the main wing has been omitted – a bit odd as this is a feature of the type. Again, I’ve scratched one using thin plasticard and a small length of fine fuse wire.
The D/F loop just behind the canopy is way over scale and even after cleaning it up and reducing the slightly odd ‘squared’ shape I decided to replace it with a small length of fine metal foil – no dramas, it just looks so much better than the kit part.
The main aerial wires are made from fine fishing line (see the TB for how I do this).
Overall then
I have certainly enjoyed this build – it certainly was a ‘Speed Build’, only taking about 12 hours contact time, even though for many reasons it had to be spread over 3 weeks! The missing parts identified above just seem odd to me – certainly not too difficult to mould in this scale. Those blue/white checkerboard decals could be better designed to fit nicely. Having said that, the subject shape is good and this is a fun build, especially if you’re not too fussed about the shortcomings I’ve highlighted here.
