Nose weight
All Me262 models need nose weight and Airfix have helpfully created a separate nose gear bay that just slots in – there’s plenty of room in there around the bay to add your weight. I used a mix of plasticine and the great Liquid Steel pellets from Little-Cars. Airfix recommends about 5g’s although I have added a bit more I think but be careful not to go too mad – the area you can add weight to is big and you could end up with a heavy model that will test your undercarriage to the full!!
Engines and fitting
The fit is very good for each engine nacelle with front and rear detail for each Jumo present. Cleaning up the parts their fit to the wing is less than perfect. You can try removing some of the plastic off the nacelles to get a better fit but I still found that I needed to get them to fit in three of the four ‘corners’. This leaves a step on the upper wing join that’s easy to fill and re-scribe.
