The build
Construction as always started with the cockpit although I pre-painted most parts and the fuselage first to make assembly easier. The fit of some of the pieces was a bit fiddly but all went together securely in the end. I added seat belts from the spares box to the pilot’s seat as none are provided in the kit which can be quite clearly seen through the cockpit glazing.
I will say at this point that Airfix provide you with a pilot figure, I hasten to add this was not used although it looked a fine representation of a pilot.
That propeller!
Next came the propeller; this had to be assembled before the fuselage sides were attached together if you want the propeller to rotate. I chose this option for the choice of posing once the model was complete.
Skipping some of the stages to the wings, these were painted and assembled ready for fitting. The camera glazing for the underside windows was inserted but did not look right once fitted; giving the impression they were too deep into the fuselage. I would recommend some research into this area to determine the exact positioning of the glass.
