Painting
My favourite, black Stynylrez is used for priming. When dry, only about half an hour, I lightly smooth down the surface with 12000 grit Micro Mesh cloth. Then using Gunze Mr Hobby H47 Red Brown, H60 IJA Green and H303 Green (upper camouflage) and H417 RLM76 Light Blue (undersides) thinned 50/50 with Mr Levelling Thinner, the Roland started looking something like. The camo is hard masked using tape and I followed the instructions for the pattern.
Decals
After a couple of days drying, another light rub down with 12000 grit cloth and onto decals. These are from Cartograf so are pretty good and gave no real problems apart from the two fuselage stripes. These were a right pain to get right, in fact they’re not.. I should have sprayed my own, which was the plan from the beginning but I forgot..
