Rigging
Now I decided it was time for rigging. A bit of an anti-climax unfortunately. Only took an hour or so… very disappointing. No turnbuckles or eyelets used and managed to do the whole lot without the top wings on, or swearing (much) The instructions are quite vague but there is nowhere near as much wire as a British aircraft would have. Because the rigging was done in record time in decided to for the upper wings for good. This task could have been easier to honest. The Uschi “Rig That Thing” thread was pulling the struts out of line but after some taping and three types of glue, the model is nearly there.
The propeller was primed in white and painted yellow. W&N Burnt Umber is used to for the wood grain and Clear Orange is sprayed to effect. The spinner is gloss black primed and sprayed with AK Extreme Aluminium. Wheels and tyres are sprayed as well. I used a Medium Sea Grey for the tyres, I think I should have used a standard “Tyre Black” but that’s a personal thing I guess.
On to the finals now. Both guns are sprayed using Mr Hobby Dark Iron buffable paint. The rear gun mount made from the kit photo etch fret. These are both fitted to the airframe as well as the little frame just forward of the pilot.
This completes the build.
