Prior to joining the fuselage halves I sprayed around the cockpit sill and instrument cowl. The upper cockpit interior walls also get some Medium Sea Gray (MSG) paint. There are two small panels to fit on the inside of the fuselage with raised detail for the upper cockpit sidewalls.
The rear engine cowl has an edge of natural metal, as this will be awkward to mask and spray later it was worth doing it now before fitting to the fuselage.
Now the fuselage can be completed, the fit is excellent with no visible seam lines.
The cockpit aligns perfectly although a little pressure is needed on the fuselage halves while the glue sets.
We now progress quickly, as the wings and horizontal stabilisers are already complete parts requiring little or no clean up. Again fit is excellent with just some slight filler on the wing roots on the underside.
