Conclusion
In conclusion this is a great kit to build. I have really enjoyed it, although it has fought a little along the way but I am sure this is due to the fit of the aftermarket cockpit and the fact I may not have removed enough resin off the sidewalls. There have been questions if the engine ducts are deep enough and after seeing a few photos I have to say that this might be the case. The remainder of the airframe and the overall look of the jet is impressive and to be honest, I think it looks right.
There are a few minor upgrades that you will need to do to bring this kit up to date, but I am sure these can be done even by the most inexperienced modellers (If I can, anyone can!). These areas of detail are:
• Front fuselage section…. Remove the cowling and replace with mesh
• Rear APU
• Undercarriage a bit sparse inside.
Even with these minor changes, you can build something really special out of the box. I know that the rivets on HobbyBoss kits are not for everyone but it certainly adds to this model.
It is also great to see a kit with as much ordinance as what is supplied here. The ordinance is also pretty modern with the inclusion of ALQ-101 pods, ECM pods, Cluster Bombs, Smart Bombs and Maverick Missiles means that there is a wide variety of weapons load outs that can be modelled with ease and leaves plenty for the spares box too!
Would I recommend this kit? A big yes from me!
