Back to the fuselage
The fuselage fits very well and all lined up well after it had set solid – the nose cannons look nice too, just protruding from their recesses.
The one area you’ll need to do something about is the rear decking behind the pilot’s seat; there is a large join line down the middle of it. The instructions say that this is painted white.
I tried to find suitable reference for this area – assuming that there must be some kind of detail in this area on the real aircraft? The attached photo (and taken from your set on the Meteor F.4 in your SMN Photo Reference Library) is a bit inconclusive and is also taken from a preserved museum airframe.
Make a blanking plate
Using some Tamiya tape I pushed this in and around the rear decking, marking the outline with a pencil. The tape is then removed and stuck onto a thin piece of plasticard. It can then be cut out using some sharp scissors; remove the tape and drop into place, securing with a small amount of liquid poly run around the edges.
I decided to fabricate a little detail in this area to add interest.
