Reinstate the rivets
Now for a task I love, reinstating the rows of rivets that were lost during sanding and polishing after the fuselage has been joined. Using an excellent tool made for the job – Rosie the Riveter, the task is very simple and straightforward. There’s a useful ‘how-to’ on riveting in your Techniques Bank if you hadn’t spotted that. You can just see here in this photo the fine rows of rivets that have gone back on.

Bringing it all together
At last, looking forward to this bit – getting the fuselage and wings joined; it’s a bit of a task, not so much because of the fit – it’s very good except under the forward section where the wing joins the underside of the fuselage. More that I just ran out of hands, but taking it in sections I applied plenty of liquid poly and taped everything up with masking tape and left it alone to dry. Some wooden clothes pegs were useful in helping to hold everything together.
Frustratingly, the port inner wing root had slightly slipped out of alignment and this needed quite a bit of filler (cyano) and sanding / polishing to get back to where it should have been – silly me ☹ the model is looking the part though now I think…
A belly full
The excellent belly tank is added and fits perfectly.
