Decals
All set now for the decals – just a quick polish using a Micromesh 8000 grade polishing cloth. I love Xtradecals, they always go on well and this set is no exception. You can see here

…that the main wing roundels have settled very well – all I needed to do was emphasis the rivet holes by gently pricking each rivet with the point of a pin.
Finishing off
I spotted that on quite a few photos, there is a light coloured band around the underside of the belly tank and this is sprayed Tamiya Deck Tan. The undercarriage sub-assemblies were completed and added at this stage so that I could stand the model on its gear while finishing off the remaining top-side details.
Canopy
This was finished as usual – Tamiya masking tape to mask the framing inside and out and painted at each stage of the painting along with the rest of the airframe so that it all looks similar in appearance to the rest of the airframe. The canopy fits perfectly and is attached with Gaitor Glue (a white PVA-type glue a bit like Kristal Klear – doesn’t fog the clear parts).
Oil wash
I did add a small amount of oil wash (Burnt Umber/Raw Sienna) to recesses but not too much – this hardly shows in the photos, but is just visible to the naked eye.
And that, as they say is that.
