Exhausts, superchargers and stuff!
Well it’s getting to the end now and in so many ways I will be sorry to see it over. I had already painted the exhausts and superchargers with a number of different tones of Alclad to get that hot/cold look that is common with the type. To get the light burnt rust look to the exhausts I first covered the part in liquid glue then using my fingers while it was still wet rolled the part between them to give it a rough texture. Once dry it was out with the pastels again to give it a rusty grey-red look you can see in the photographs.
Whilst the model was upside down for the last time, I added the open forward crew door and the undercarriage retraction struts which had previously been painted and weathered.
Props
I had previously painted and weathered the propeller bosses and blades so now it was simply a matter of assembling them all. A two minute job and no dramas and the props simply slipped over the substantial shafts with no need for glue.
Last touches
My final job was to fit the wire radio aerials and the remaining 50cal guns from Master. For the 2 on the Cheyenne turret I added flash eliminators from Profimodeller and that was the beast finished.
