Instrument Panel
The instrument panel comprises two parts and a decal. Not much will be seen but to be honest I think that like the B-25 this is a weak and poor representation of the real thing. The instruments are too deep and too high and there is a lack of definition on the panel. I would invest in an etched or resin replacement if I were building this again.
Bomb Bay
The Bomb bay is small for what was seen as a heavy bomber carrying only a 4,000lb load. The same as a mosquito could carry! It’s about the same size as the B-25 I built recently but less complex and quite bland in appearance; especially without bombs. I hate building ordinance so like the B-25 decided to leave the bay empty. It assembles quickly.
Even looking at the Eduard Brass set (a good indicator of what may be missing) for this very little can be added apart from a few extra wires so for me it was a spray of green and some weathering and graphite and it was quickly a job done.
Radio operator Navigator’s station
This area is nicely busy with some well moulded equipment for radios and such like. Oddly it’s missing a seat but I will use one of the spares on the sprue to fill this gap. There could be a lot more in this area with some leads and cables, lighting and maybe even some maps or log on the desk. It can all be seen through the glass panel above the bay so it would be worth investing some time and effort here. For those of you that like such things a crew figure would look especially good. For me though its wooden floors and some weathered green as well as black instruments and a splash of red for dials here and there and it was enough for me.
