The interior of the cockpit is just about complete. At present it could not look a bigger mess. I have had to trim quite a bit off the edges of the bulkheads seat etc to the fuselage halves even to touch each other. They are by no means flush as yet.
When the halves are together not much of the cockpit edges are visible and it looks quite neat.
The Wings
As you can see these also arrive with pretty large casting blocks on them, they are removed with the help of a scriber slightly angled away from the front of the wing. This leaves a bit more to sand down but it is safer and protects against unwelcome gouges.
This photo above shows the larger parts for the wheel bay – the instructions are pretty clear and with the help of 5-minute epoxy it goes together very tidily.
The smaller parts are also added in the above pic.
The ribs are put onto a base plate fixed to the wing. The brass supplied is slightly different to the instructions shown in as much as more of the ribs PP5 are attached to part PP9 than shown. This makes the handling a much more delicate operation!
I have put everything in place on both wings now and dry-fitted the lower part to see if they marry together OK. They do. The detail is impressive and took quite a time to assemble.
