Construction…
VIDEO DEMO
Construction begins with the cockpit and from the box this is well done but as I previously said seatbelts really are a must as the cockpit is very visible on this aircraft especially in this larger scale. I also opted to use the eduard ‘zoom’ interior but to be honest it really doesn’t bring that much more to the kit. The most tedious part of this stage, and possibly the whole build, was masking of the interior wooden framing but it really does need to be done as it is very visible through the large cockpit openings.
VIDEO DEMO
With the cockpit constructed and fuselage interior painted up these parts can all be put together. The fuselage halves fit together very well and then the cockpit framing can be inserted into it and the upper and lower sections can be attached. Take care with these as they do fit very well and if done properly no filling/sanding will be required as this will destroy that lovely surface detail.
The tail wheel strut was a week point on ICM’s Gladiator and my initial impressions of it on this was no different and this point was proven later on in the build.
