The cabin floor is next up, primer first with a base coat of Light Interior Grey which seems to be predominant in all Chinooks.
Then masking the darker walkway areas in German Grey with the cargo floor rails and heavy lift hatch cover picked out in metallic steel in this case.
Lastly the cockpit floor and forward cabin deck in NATO Black.
Main cabin bulkhead has more sound proofing on the rear wall which we will paint NATO Black and the raised detail of the circuit breaker panels is removed for the Eduard photoetch to sit neatly.
We also remove the raised instrument panel detail prior to the photoetch.
The main cabin bulkhead has plenty detail visible, although recessed in the wall, but spend a bit of time here and it paints up respectably. You could always choose to cover this area with more soundproofing material, as this was how it would typically be and only open for maintenance.
Reference photos indicated the Yellow Chromate primer was prevalent here. The air conditioning pack to starboard was shades of metallic and my only additions were a scratch made first aid kit on the wall and if you look carefully you can see a folding crew seat.
For the cockpit, the instruments and seat straps were all from the Eduard set. I added another first aid kit and some map storage on the bulkhead wall and a small box of avionics at the pilot’s feet, which could be seen through the lower canopy windows.
All just to busy this area up a bit.

Fantastic RAF Chinook, super detailed and great guide for my current Italeri 1/48 Chinook HC2 project. Can only wish I had that talent for building!

The final build is fantastic; I’m so pleased to come across this, as I got this kit today. I’m so excited to start, but even more so with your guidance; great work.
