Closing thoughts
As I mentioned right at the start of this project, I just love the sporty looks of the F-84F Firestreak, especially in Luftwaffe markings of the Cold War era and I am pleased with the outcome.
The Kinetic kit has plenty to commend it: well fitting parts, detailed cockpit/canopy, ease of construction and choice plus quality of markings/decals.
On the flip side, I do think the engraved detail is a bit heavy, although in these markings they are acceptable to me. The lack of full stencil provision on the decal sheet is very poor by todays standards. The nose intake shape really isn’t that bad at all and with some minimal work as I hope I’ve shown can make the opening the correct shape without the need to resort to aftermarket resin. The instructions too are poor, just not completely clear in places and the painting diagram is very basic.
I really did enjoy the build and for me, that’s it really and if you like the subject, why don’t you too have a crack at this model?

“Hello,Geoff” – The Thunderstreak certainly is a charismatic-looking aircraft and this is a superb tribute to the type.

Personally,I’m a great fan of the Norm72 colours and schemes and they suit this model so well.Another masterclass.
As Always,
Paul.
