Feature Article with Calum Gibson
Just before we get started, here’s a look at how it all turned out…
Introduction
This model is depicted as an aircraft from JaboG 33 Luftwaffe in 1983. This is one of the kit options. It appealed as it has the iconic orange high-vis tip tanks and that it has evidence of service with JaboG 31 and both sides of the intake.
This is my second Kinetic Starfighter. The first was a F-104J. You can see it here.
Construction…
First step is to get the KASL Hobby seats into the tub. Sadly, I had to remove a bit of detail from the sides and top of the seats to get them to fit into the kit tubs.
The detail on the side of the fuselage halves was first airbrushed a grey that approximates FS36231. I added a couple of JiraGIO Decal placards in places where I saw placards on the reference photos. Some dry brushing was done to bring out the raised detail and some details picked out with a fine brush.
Of course, none of this will be seen but, for me, it’s all part of the fun.
