Undercarriage, wheels, and exhaust
The main wheel undercarriage struts and oleos are handed, so ensure you dry fit before gluing together. Primed and coated in our interior white the oleo extension is detailed in Alclad Chrome.
The nose gear has some additional detail to add with a hydraulic cylinder and nose landing lamp, again finished in our gloss white. The overall fit is very tight but results in a stong set of legs for our quite weighty model. The main wheels are two-part affairs that glue togther neatly and minimal sanding required to remove the seam line.
The nose wheel is a single piece, so simply a coat of Tyre Black, mask off the hubs and finish again in white.
The brake disk centres are finished in Alclad Stainless Steel and are a nice touch of detail.
Kitty Hawk supply a choice for orienting the exhaust tailpipe in the vertical landing position or ‘in flight’ position. Whichever you choose the finish is Alclad Burnt Iron with touches of Hot Metal on the exterior.
The interior of the afterburner petals is a base matt white with a touch of Alclad Pale Burnt Metal to add effect.
