Engines
We are using the kit engine cowls but adding the Quickboost resin engines, enhanced with the Eduard PE.
Firstly the cowls get an interior coat of Zinc Cromate, followed by a coat of Alclad Aluminium around the cowl edges, so we can mask with Maskol again.
Finished off by masking off the corresponding camouflage colours and the white undersides.
The resin engines begin with a prime coat of Alclad Black primer, followed by Alclad Gloss Black Base. The top coat is Alclad Stainless Steel, once the Eduard PE cylinder firing lines are added. These get picked out with a fine brush in black before fitting the engine into the cowling.
The final step is to mask off the main engine body and finish off the central hub in Gull Gray.
Once the cowl and engines are complete, the propellors are added. These were finished in semi gloss black with yellow tips and the hub in Gull Gray with an Alclad Chrome spinner. I also added some Aluminium under the black on the leading edges and Maskol’d again to get some wear effect.
Fitted to the main wing, they look pretty effective.
