Introduction by Geoff C.
It was only a few months ago that I came across the excellent work by Nat on the Internet and I am so glad that I did because Nat has become a friend and I am very pleased to be able to show you his fine work. This is the first of what I am sure will be several entries from Nat into SMN and I know that we are all in for a treat!
Nat’s first main contribution is the fine Revell Ar 196A-3 in 1:32, a model that I had the opportunity to build back in May 2011, just a couple of years after we started SMN back in November 2010. Here’s a quick reminder of my own build and if you want to see more of it here’s the link to Revell-Finished Now.
OK, over to you Nat…
I am an enthusiastic modeler since I was six years old; past the era when little hands were handling (and messing) FROG and early Airfix kits, then later not forgetting to mention some – I hope deserved – success in modeling exhibitions. I must confess I feel truly honoured to now be giving my little contribution to Geoff Coughlin’s Scale Modelling Now, with this first “Overview” on this work.
I will not go on; the very construction of the model itself lasted five months, including pauses, I built it and painted it but had not planned to write any article and so I did not keep a diary “step by step”, but I hope that what I say here to tell can be a nice source of inspiration for many modellers, especially for painting and weathering!
