After the primer was applied the next stage was to roughly spray with white on the areas which would carry the striping. These areas were then masked off using the decals as a guide.
Close examination of the Hawk’s navigation lights reveals that they are not overtly red and green, rather they have a dark finish which makes difficult to distinguish the colours. To replicate this I sprayed Alclad Transparent Red and Green port and starboard, respectively. This was followed with a coat Alclad Transparent Smoke before masking prior to the main painting discussed above.
