Conclusion
What can I say?
I didn’t enjoy the build at all. First off, the subject just doesn’t appeal to me. Second, 1950s technology just shows how spoilt we are with the current standard of moulding.
If I were to do another, which I might have to just to prove to myself I can do a better job of it, I’d change a number of things and without a doubt I’d get some photo etched guns as a minimum.
I dare say a decent looking replica can be made from this kit, but there’s a lot to do to bring it to anywhere near a decent standard. I’ve no idea if it’s dimensionally correct, it looks like a Dr.1 and to be fair I don’t run a ruler over any of my kits so I can’t run it down on that point.
If you want a large scale Dr.1 then this is just down your street, but just be ready to put some work into it.
I made no effort at all to paint the figures that come with the kit; they just look awful.
Thanks and apologies to Gary at Models4hobby for supplying the kit, it shouldn’t have taken as long as it has to build which is entirely my fault.
