The Me 210/410 canopy was an interesting and complex structure, which included the openings to feed the ammunition boxes for the forward firing weapons. So I decided to detail it building the internal frames, using styrene rod and electric wire. I installed it, having some trouble fitting it to the fuselage, but I felt satisfied with the result and the detailing effort paid off. Note in the pictures that the bomb bay doors fitting have been corrected.
Very serious downsides of this kit are the propellers and how they fit the engine cowlings. First, the blades have no incidence, so I cut them and re-fitted them with a proper incidence angle. I did my best to make the spinners fit to the bases but I really dislike them. Then followed the final details and touches, improving antennas (masts made from styrene and Uschi van der Rosten fantastic elastic thread), pitot tube (used and hypodermic needle), airbrakes, control surfaces actuators and weights, landing gear doors, the MG 131 barrels (used the fabulous MiniWorld brass ones), etc. Gluing the canopy hatches in open position demanded some creativity, but was achieved using white glue.
