The Do335 was one of the strangest and revolutionary aircraft to be built during World War 2, being the fastest piston engined aircraft in the Luftwaffe it never entered service nor did it see any combat action.
Capable of producing a top speed of 750km/h at 6400 metres. Around 40 of these aircraft have been built and a few of them were captured and tested by the Allies, only one of these aircraft survived and it’s now in a static display in the Smithsonian Institute in the US.
The Tamiya kit
Not being a new release the kit is still a start of art product from the Japanese company Tamiya; containing a little over 100 parts moulded in grey, 12 clear parts, and decal sheet for two different aircraft. With fine engraved panel lines and a weight already included in the box, the kit is crying to be built…so let’s go shall we…
