Trent Meteor
The whole story started, when I scanned the Hannants weekly update e-mail some years ago.
I stumbled over a conversion set in scale 48 from Unicraft. A few days later I had all the parts for a new project. The conversion is based on the Tamiya Meteor Mk.1.
The project started with preparing the resin parts, which were only fair in the general shape of the new engine bay, but had many bubbles and lacked any surface detail. The only other parts were the propellers. See the pictures.
I cut away the original kit engine bays and hat to do a whole lot of sanding on lots of putty in order to create new surfaces between the new engine bays and the kits wings. It took three to four rounds of applying putty and sanding afterwards.
