Summary
So what did I think of Trumpeter’s big Super Sabre? As build enjoyment goes it is right up there. The engineering and fit is excellent and the tube of filler remained firmly in the drawer. Other reviewers have highlighted some inaccuracies with this model, the main one being the shape of the intake. This is certainly too flat on the lower lip compared to photographs but without this comparison I doubt many would notice.

There are resin replacements available if this bothers you too much. The main wheel wells do look a bit too shallow but again, being underneath, this is not a problem for me. What I have sitting on the shelf is a very imposing and colourful representation of the two-seat Hun. It sits next to its little brother, the F-86, and the difference in size between these stablemates is evident. I will leave you to decide if this model is an OOB proposition!

“Hello,Rob” – A magnificent build of the big Super Sabre.
The tonal shading on the NMF is very effective and the characteristic heat-staining on the rear section looks just right.
The vibrant scheme markings complete a great model.
As Always,
Paul.
