Engine cowl
Whilst the cockpit halves are drying I turned my attention to the engine cowling and the upper fuselage coaming. I had chosen to do the post-war silver 56 Sqn option that was finished in silver dope and natural metal. I wanted these two silver finishes to look different so the bare metal was finished using Alclad Chrome over a gloss black base and the doped silver areas were finished using Alclad White Aluminium. The result was just as I had hoped with a very obvious differentiation between the metal and doped areas.
