Full Review by Andy Goodwin
A note from Geoff…
Our thanks to Zoukei-Mura for supplying our kit. Check out their Zoukei-Mura-Now page in SMN and also visit their website – some incredible models available there and in the pipeline.
Also… if you like large-scale German WWII subjects, take a look at my own build of the stunning ZM Do 335A Pfeil currently in Aircraft-Build Now and soon to finish and then it will be available in Aircraft-Finished Now-Zoukei-Mura.
I had recently moved house and had finally set up my new workshop. I was keen and ready to go when I was offered this kit to build and review. How could I refuse?! I had heard so many good things about the offerings from Zoukei-Mura and I do enjoy a good Luftwaffe Fighter so I would consider it rude not to. That was in June 2015…
I am running Andy’s full build as a great one-piece feature as a treat and as it’s available, so here’s a sneak peek at his completed model. I have to say I like it a lot, despite a few issues that Andy had along the way. Remember, this isn’t ZM’s latest release and shows just how far ZM has come in terms of getting better and better with their latest kits (as I type) like their Do 335 and Horten ‘Flying Wing’.
Over to you Andy…
I had a good read of Geoff’s Here Now review and also Dave C’s Finished Now review of the TA-152H-1 in order to take stock and see if there were any pitfalls that I should be aware of. Both seemed to reveal that it should be a straightforward build, so onwards we go…
Due to the potential complexity of this build I decided to follow the instructions quite closely. The instructions are very detailed and highly informative: some have said they are akin to actual aircraft maintenance documentation but I know, firsthand, that these instructions are much better! Colour call-outs are noted for Vallejo Model Air paints but these are quite easy to convert to your preferred brand from various online conversion charts or smart-phone App’s.
