Let’s get on with it
As you can see, the engines come first and there is just about everything you could want in these. To save time I’ve prepared and assembled the parts for each engine in three main batches, each to be painted a different metallic colour.
Here are a few pics showing the engines in different states of assembly:
Watch out for the sprue gates (where the parts join their frame) as it’s easy to damage the thin rods especially and I used a sharp scalpel after breaking one, rather than side cutters!

Hi Geoff,
Loving this build . Doubt if I’ll every build it but I have the old ESCI one to build so any hints , especially the one about using tape and then painting it to hide the cowling inner seam is really helpful.
The cockpit was so crowded that they put some of the gauges on the cowling . Think that they would have been for the engine. Apparently the Me 110 had some as well.
Might be decals on the decal sheet for them.
Pilot workload must have been immense.
Looking forward to the rest of the build .
Regards
Alf

Excellent and informative build.
A question:
Do you use the Alclad2 Klear Kote Gloss out the bottle or do you thin it for airbrushing?
Geoff Coughlin says
Great stuff Mick – really pleased with the end result. Final photos will be shot tomorrow and you can see much more in those (or will be able to :) ).
And David, definitely neat – no thinning needed for the Alclad2 Klear Kote Gloss
