Seat, Auxiliary fuel tank, battery and radio
Here are most of the add-ons to go in the main cockpit area like the seat (that comes supplied with or without harness), I used the one with as they look pretty realistic to me and well defined for painting. The seat, along with frame support is painted up using various colours as you can see. The main green is Tamiya XF-5 Green that get added to those green areas in the cockpit including the separate side walls that are to come.
The auxiliary fuel tank gets that Lifecolor Deep Cockpit dark grey that gives a nice scale black and soon the parts can begin to be assembled. I have to say I’m pleased to be finally be doing this as I seem to have spent so long on sub-assemblies, it’ll be nice to see something resembling an aeroplane ☺
So far so good, looking ok I think – there is still plenty of weathering to add in this area but I tend to like to add that gradually as I go, especially where the build is complex like this one, that way you can see and ‘feel’ the cockpit getting closer and closer to the way I visualise it at the start.
You can see on some of the photos that additional details like wires to the radio/battery have been added using fine cream coloured detailing wire (from Little-Cars here in the UK – see Get it Now Links).
