Tail issues
The worst fitting area of the kit was the tail. There is a gap where the horizontal stabilisers join the tail that needs some careful filling and sanding. I also had to reinstate some of the detail along the fuselage spine that was lost during the sanding process.
The fit of the nose isn’t great and in trying to get it to be flush with the front of the fuselage I lost some of the detail around the cannon ports but looking at my reference photos this raised detail was far too prominent anyway so it wasn’t an issue. I also opted to replace the plastic wing pitot tube with a metal one – it was just a lot more robust.
