A final bit of weathering
I felt the need to try to create some subtle streaking down the airframe as if to illustrate dried rain streaks and the like and I mixed a very thin wash as above, but this time using Tamiya Deck Tan. This short video shows the mix going on. You can see it’s very thin and the head of the airbrush is brought in close to help create small, thin fine lines – airbrush pressure is about 12psi.
Final touch – aerial wire, and Arrgghh!
This is from grey fishing line with a small hole drilled I the fin and secured forward and starboard on fuselage. I had to make an aerial mast from scratch. It was right about now that I realised that I had omitted to scratchbuild the two small air scoops on either side of the nose cone and one rectangular duct just aft of those. None of these small items is in the kit but I had seen them in a photo I had but, alas, it was too late now! Purists forgive me, but I wasn’t about to start messing at this late stage – sorry!
