The tailplanes and control surfaces are the final parts to add before we get to the painting stage – blimey! That was quick (just one weekend, on and off).
A little more weight!
This could apply to me – not enough exercise but not this time… having added the tailplanes and rudder, and applying the balance-test with finger and thumb in main gear bays, it looks like we might have a tail-sitter (again)! Luckily there is still a bit of room in that nose cone and so a few more metal pellets and plasticine fill it up and on goes the nose cone. The fit is good but with all that weight cyano is used to secure it firmly to the fuselage.
Pylons on…
You’ll remember we opened up the slots earlier and these are cleaned up a little more to take the twin weapons pylons under each wing and again they slot in nicely. I do plan to add the pairs or LGBs under each wing but more of those in a mo.
