Decisions, decisions… LGBs or not?
There are four large bombs for the main bomb bay, that’s not an issue, the issue is the kit LGBs – well, the fins are far too thick on both weapons and the LGB nose ‘cones’ poorly defined. So, that’s some work to cut off all the fins and replace them with thinner plasticard? Maybe I can just sand the leading and trailing edges? You’ll find out soon enough what I decide, just after I make a decision – bear with me!!
While the stores dry let’s get that sensor fairing assembled and ready for installation beneath the nose. The thin leading edge is slightly malformed and needs a little cyano and sanding to reinstate the neat curved edge. The interior is painted black and clear glazing installed being secured with Micro Kristal Klear (or you can use PVA or Gaitor Grip glue).
Sub assembly prep…
A good time now to get anything that needs to be painted ‘black’ cleaned up and mounted ready for spraying: wheel well doors, sensor fairing, wing tip tanks etc.
