Track assembly
The next stage of the build is the tracks which are link and length; this cuts down the build time no end but care is needed. The first side I started with the bottom and worked up and around the front drive sprocket. I then attached the front top run having cut off the rear guide horns which were on the back of the return rollers. This would allow removal when completed.
The rear axle had not been glued in place so that the single links could be formed round the wheel, attached to the top rear track and positioned so that everything had lined up with the axle being glued into place.
To ensure that the tracks sit correctly, a small piece of foam is used to hold it in place and then it’s left to dry.
The other side was constructed slightly differently by making up the single track links and forming them round the idler and drive sprocket. Ensure not to use too much adhesive so it doesn’t adhere to the wheels. Once dry the top tracks were cut as per the other side and then the tracks were built up; the rear axle being glued once all had been completed.
The side skirts now had the mounting brackets fitted, completed on one side. The other had the rear Shutzen removed and the mounting brackets fitted to the remaining ones.
